What happens if I don’t have health insurance?

Not having health insurance can lead to serious financial consequences:

  • High Medical Bills: Routine check-ups or emergencies can become extremely costly without insurance.

  • Medical Debt: Unpaid bills can damage your credit score, affecting future financial opportunities.

  • Limited Access to Care: Some providers may be less willing to treat uninsured patients, especially for non-emergency services.

It’s always better to have coverage to protect yourself from unexpected healthcare costs. In addition some states might have penalties for not having health insurance for a long period of time.
